I buy Advantage 2 55lbs + and dose it out because I have multiple dogs. I learned this trick working at the local Rescue. That's how they buy it and can treat multiple dogs and different sizes. All of mine are the same size and breed so it's easy.

Southern Florida fleas are resistant to all the other topical treatments that I've tried, prescription and OTC. The best thing about Advantage 2 is that it kills ticks even though it doesn't advertise that it does. One of our dogs had a small tick on her neck last summer but it was DEAD and had not barely latched on. We feel it was the contact with the medicine that did the trick!!

This was highly recommended by my vet as inexpensive and high efficiency flee prevention pills. My dogs are small and only Advantage has doses for dogs smaller than 10b

Works, not a waste of money

While we don't have fleas and only rare cases of canine lice in Alaska, what I like about this is that it is easy to apply, has no obvious effect beyond protection, and meets the requirements for Doggy Day Camp.

Same stuff as the one for cats, and if you measure it accurately using the weight of the cat it is much cheaper.
