Advantage Multi for dogs is a Once-a-month topical solution for the prevention of heartworm disease, kills adult fleas, is indicated for the treatment of flea infestations, as well as the treatment and control of intestinal parasite infections.
For use in puppies (ages 7 weeks and up; 3 pounds and up) and dogs.
Advantage Multi for Dogs® is an all-in-one monthly treatment for the prevention of heartworms, parasites, and fleas.
Advantage Multi for Dogs® is a ready-to-use single-dose topical solution. The solution comes in an applicator tube and may be colorless or yellow. The dosage schedule and dosage formulation are intended to provide at least 4.5 mg/lb (10 mg/kg) of imidacloprid and 1.1 mg/lb (2.5 mg/kg) of moxidectin, based on body weight.
The following side effects are possible with topical treatment in dogs:
Hair discoloration at application site, Local discomfort, Hot spots, Alopecia, Erythema (skin redness), Pruritus (itching), Swollen ears and face, Rash, Hives, Acute pulmonary edema, Labored breathing, Panting, Seizures, Muscle tremors, Ataxia (impaired coordination), Disorientation, Agitation, Restlessness, Weakness, Lethargy, Poor appetite, Salivation, Diarrhea or bloody diarrhea, and Vomiting

The following side effects are possible with accidental oral ingestion in dogs:
Poor appetite, Agitation, Disorientation, Lethargy, Ataxia (impaired coordination), Mydriasis (dilated pupils), Seizures, Muscle tremors, Vomiting, and Salivation.

The following side effects are possible with topical treatment in cats:
Neurologic signs, Agitation, Lethargy, Vomiting, Skin or application site reactions.

  • Accidental ingestion by dogs can result in serious side effects, including generalized muscle tremors, panting, incoordination, dilated pupils, salivation, or depression. In dogs sensitive to avermectin, the side effects can be more serious and could include coma or death.
  • For 30 minutes following treatment, make sure that dogs can't lick the application sites on other treated dogs or themselves. Separate dogs from one another after treatment to minimize accidental ingestion risk.
A prescription is required. Sold in 1, 3, 6 or 12 month color coded boxes according to your dog's weight.

1. Remove one dose applicator tube (tube) from the package. As specified in the following table, administer the entire contents of the Advantage Multi® for Dogs tube that correctly corresponds with the body weight of the dog.
