This medication was prescribed by my vet for our cat who has problems with itching, scratching, and skin disruption due to the scratching. It has worked very well and all skin issues are quickly resolved by the medication.

Our dog was a rescue with all kind of skin problems; once she got on Apoquel she is so much better. We keep her on it all the time, in fear the condition will come back.

We have had Phoebe for 6 years (she was 4 when we adopted her), so I not sure about the 24 hr time line. She takes 16mg and it get's very expensive; but she a happy girl.

Apoquel 16mg works for my fur baby and we have been giving it to him for awhile. He loves to roll around in the grass and walk in the woods. His skin is clear since he was started on Apoquel and he doesn't scratch all the time. It is a little expensive even with auto ship. We will keep him on the Apoquel since we haven't found a less expensive alternative.

Great Medication for my Dog’s Itch

I have been treating my 105 lb German Shepherd’ for allergies for about 8 years now. Before he was on Apoquel he would get several big red bloody bald spots from so much scratching. Since he has been on this medication his itching has gone away & he doesn’t make himself bleed anymore. He is now one very Big Happy go lucky dog.

My dog is almost two years old and we started out feeding him pretty decent food and treats but started to break out with a rash that progressively got worse over time. We tried changing food and treats without success. Now we only give him food and treats that don't have additives and food dye in them but that still doesn't seem to work. We took him to the vet and he gave me this medication and it definitely helped him get over his rash. The problem with getting the medication from the vet is that it very expensive. We are on a fixed income and finding this medication here at a cheaper price is awesome. We will sacrifice on other things so our dog wont suffer.

my dog been taking this medicine for 10 years. It's the only thing that helps him. He takes the 5/4. Mg. Plus I cook his meals. No dog food products. I only give him a 1/4 of the pill. It's a good pill.

My vet prescribed Apoquel for my dog because she has Alopesia Areata, which is a rare skin condition in shelties. Yume is a blue merle. It's an autoimmune disease that attacks the black hair on the face. It was supposed to help the hair grow back on her face and it is! After one month of taking the pill, it started to grow back, just a "peach fuzz" at first, and now she's on her third bottle and it almost looks normal! areata

When we adopted Lexi, she was practically bald. Poor thing was being treated for the mange. Turns out, she had allergies. This med works GREAT! This medication is insanely expensive!! Kona doesn't lick the hair off of his paws now and seems relieved after taking this for a few weeks. Lowered the dose to 1-1/2 a day.

My dog is severely allergic to something outside in the summer months. He was miserable and had nearly chewed all the hair off his feet. My dog went through many different treatments for his itching and breakouts. Nothing worked, but Apoquel and allergy shots.

It works really well on my bluenose female pitbull. She had really bad infections all over the body and paws. She couldn't take it anymore. I went to the vet and I explained the issues she had. So, I got an antibotic and itching medicines. To my amazing eyes, her skin and hair were back normal. So as well her paws. She finally came back to herself the way she was. It was not on the outside. It was inside her body whatever it came from what she eats or outside environmentals during seasons. She is better off taking the medicine for a long time preventing her from licking and scratching constantly. The Apoquel medicine is very expensive but if you can get an account with Allivet, it will give you a discount as long you have a file of your pet with Vet hospital for authorization. Thank God for Apoquel, our lab was missing hair due to licking & chewing his paws. We tried everything, diet changes, supplements, topical creams, and nothing curbed his incessant licking, besides Apoquel. Is it perfect, no t quite, as we'd love a less expensive version, as it can get pricey for larger dogs, but does work.

I have a rescued Pekingese; he is about 9 yrs old; we think. He came to me itchy, itchy, and scratchy. His ears were red and inflamed and his stools were in terrible shape. I finally had to purchase potty pads and began with bathroom training. We also learned about digestive enzymes at the health food store. But the biggest issue for him was his poor skin. Duke, Great Dane has been having issues with itching his ears, shaking his head and we have done everything from OTC, antibiotics to ear drops and nothing has worked. I pray this will do it. Just starting out with a few to see and if it works I will be ordering more.

Apoquel helps to calm my dog down when her skin starts itching from allergens. Autoship means I always get the medication on time so there are no lapses in treatment which can cause lead to an ear infection for my dog. Apoquel treatment is a lot less expensive that veterinary treatment.

This medication is the ONLY medicine that works for my dog Cashy and Cayden. Cashy is a 55 pound Boston Terrier/Pitbull cross. This poor pooch wakes up chewing on himself everywhere he can reach. 1-2 hours after we administer his medicine (16 mg tab) he is calm and itch free, for the most part. I guess I shouldn't say itch free but a lot less uncomfortable as he was before the medicine and he will scratch every now and then but nothing like before. My dog has been on apoquel for about 7 yrs and before that she was miserable scratching and causing infection on her skin multiple times. With many vet visits, a little over a year, and once she was old enough to have apoquel her life has a better quality for her. I can always tell if I've forgotten to give her pill because she immediately is scratching after 24hrs has passed since the last dose. This has greatly improved my dogs life and my wallet on vet visits!

I have a Shih Tzu who had awful itching problems when we first got her. We tried to go grain free, we tried other products, but Apoquel is the only one that works. She gets a 1/2 a pill daily and during really bad allergy times I can safely give her a whole pill.

I was blessed with a rescue Pekingese. He's the best dog I've ever known. I'm an animal lover and hated to see him so miserable. His ears would even flair up and were scratched until bloody. I have a whoodle who loves to roll around outside and also loves to scratch like crazy. I give him apoquel and it seems to help with his scratching quite a bit. Thank heavens for Apoquel. My Lab mix has been using Apoquel for 6 years. Starting using after he scratched so much causing skin infections which turned into a bacterial infection spreading over his body. Unfortunately my dog has sensitive skin & can break out at a blink of an eye so having him not scratching as much is a blessing. I’ve spent hundreds & hundreds of dollars on skin infection medication, medicated shampoos & so on. Apoquel definitely is a great solution to help. I started him on 2 pills a day for few years then 1 pill for 3 years. I reduced him to 1/2 pill for the last 8 months & still have success. If I see he’s showing signs of scratching to much I can always increase the dosage. This is the instructions or plan that my Vet gave me to follow. The Vet said each pet obviously is different & to use my observations & judgement on whether to decrease or increase dosage. That’s also a good thing about Apoquel, being able to change dosage. But before anyone does this you need to discuss with your pet’s Veterinarian.
