Baytril Tablet side effects
- When overdosed (10 times recommended dosage), diarrhea and vomiting could occur. This effect is unlikely at recommended dosage.
- Dogs who have pseudomonas ear infections require extremely high doses. In these cases, nausea could become an issue.
- Joint cartilage damage could occur in immature dogs (under the age of 8 months). This is only experienced by growing dogs and is not an issue in cats. It is not recommended to use this medication in puppies unless the severity of the infection warrants it.
- This medication could produce urine crystals, which could show up on a lab test. Therefore, it is important to be aware of the potential for this reaction. Crystals caused by this medication should not be confused with more clinically relevant urate, oxalate, or struvite crystals.
