Product Overview
Latanoprost Ophthalmic Solution (generic Xalatan) reduces eye pressure by increasing the amount of fluid drained from the eyes. It is a useful treatment for high eye pressure and glaucoma.
For use in dogs.
Latanoprost treats specific types of glaucoma and ocular hypertension (hypertension of the eye).
Latanoprost Ophthalmic Solution 0.005% 2.5 ml increases the volume of fluid drained from the eyes, reducing eye pressure.
The most commonly reported reactions to this medication are:
- Eye stinging (shortly after application)
- Local irritation, causing redness in the tissue around the eye
- Constricted/smaller pupils
- Change in iris color (to dark brown)

Immediately contact your closest animal hospital.
- Latanoprost is generally considered effective and safe when prescribed by a veterinarian, but side effects could still occur.
- Do not administer to pets with known allergies or hypersensitivities to the drug.
- This medication could interact with other drugs, but is typically safe when used in conjunction with other eye medications. Discuss other drugs with your veterinarian to ensure that they are safe to use in conjunction with Latanoprost.
