Product Overview

Meloxicam is an anti-inflammatory, nonsteroidal drug prescribed for the treatment of fever, primary dysmenorrhea, and arthritis symptoms. It is also used as an analgesic when there is an inflammatory component. *Sold per tablet.
Meloxicam is a nonsteroidal ant-inflammatory drug (NSAID) used to treat inflammation and reduce pain associated with acute and chronic musculoskeletal disorders such as osteoarthritis and arthritis in dogs and cats.
For use in cats and dogs.
Meloxicam blocks prostaglandin-making enzymes (cyclooxygenase 1 and 2) and it reduces prostaglandin levels. Because of this action, it may help to reduce inflammation and the symptoms thereof.
The most frequently reported adverse reaction to NSAIDs is upset stomach. However, other side effects could develop because of stomach ulcers, including:
  • Constipation
  • Bloody stools
  • Tarry stools
  • Dark stools
  • Diarrhea
  • Vomiting
  • Loss of appetite
Kidney-related reactions could include:
  • Urine smell changes
  • Urine color changes
  • Increased urination
  • Increased thirst
Liver-related reactions could include jaundice, which may involve yellow of:
  • Eyes
  • Skin
  • Gums
Other potential reactions could include:
  • Behavioral changes
  • Seizures
  • Incoordination
  • Shedding
  • Lethargy
  • Pale gums
If you observe any of these reactions, discontinue use and notify your veterinarian.

  • Has high blood pressure
  • Suffers from heart disease
  • Has a bleeding disorder
  • Is retaining fluid
  • Suffers from congestive heart failure

  • Has bleeding or an ulcer in the stomach
  • Is allergic to any NSAID, including aspirin
