Product Overview
Metoprolol XL Tablets are administered independently or in conjunction with other blood pressure treatment medications. It can also be useful in prevention of chest pain (angina) or heart attack treatment.

For use in cats and dogs.
Metoprolol XL prevents angina and treats heart attacks.
Metoprolol XL slows your pet's heart rate, which relaxes the blood vessels. This eases the strain on the heart so it won't have to work as hard to pump blood.
Metoprolol is considered effective and safe for use in animals when a veterinarian has prescribed it. However, adverse reactions are still possible.
- In rare cases, animals may faint. Seek immediate veterinary attention if your pet collapses.
- Animals may be weakened due to low blood pressure or slow heart rate.

Contact your closest emergency animal hospital.
- Speak with your veterinarian about all other medications your pet is taking, as some drugs can have interactions with metoprolol (including calcium channel blockers, insulin, and furosemide).
- Proceed with caution in administering to animals suffering from congestive heart failure.
- Do not administer to pets with known allergies or hypersensitivities to this medication.
