Product Overview

Timolol Ophthalmic Solution is a topical medication that may be directly applied into the eye to reduce internal eye pressure. It is useful in treating glaucoma because it lowers elevated eye pressure that can damage vision. It is a complementary treatment to other pressure-reducing eye medications.
For use in horses, cats, and dogs.
Timolol is an easy-to-administer solution that works to relieve pressure in the eyes.
Timolol is a topically-applied medication that can be directly instilled into the eye to reduce internal eye pressure. It is a non-selective beta blocking medication that works to reduce aqueous humor production through the blocking of beta-2 receptors within the ciliary body, resulting in decreased production of AMP. This reduction leads to decreased intraocular pressure.
If your pet exhibits any of the following side effects, speak with your veterinarian:
  • Cough
  • Trouble sleeping
  • Skin rash
  • Upset stomach
  • Loss of appetite
  • Diarrhea
  • Nausea
  • Dry mouth
  • Drowsiness
  • Weakness
  • Drooping eyelid
  • Blurred vision
Reactions other than the ones listed above could also occur.
Timolol Maleate
Immediately contact your vet in case of overdose.
  • Do not touch the sterile opening of the dropper to any surface, including hands or eyes. Contamination can lead to eye infection.
  • Follow prescription label instructions closely, taking care to avoid using this medication for longer than prescribed or in larger volumes than directed.
Sold in the following concentration/sizes : 0.25% 10 ml, 0.5% 5 ml, 0.5% 10 ml or 0.5% 15 ml

Don't use other eye drops while using Timolol unless directed to do so by your veterinarian. If your veterinarian does recommend another eye medication, wait 10 minutes before or after use of Timolol.
