Amoxi-Tabs (amoxicillin) is a semi-synthetic comprehensive antibiotic. It offers bactericidal benefits against many common types of gram-negative and gram-positive pathogens. Amoxi-Tabs are often used to treat cats and dogs for soft tissue infections, bacterial dermatitis, gastrointestinal tract infections, cystitis, or respiratory tract infections.
Amoxi-Tabs (amoxicillin) is an antibiotic with a broad spectrum of activity. They are indicated for the treatment of respiratory tract infections, cystitis, gastrointestinal tract infections, bacterial dermatitis or soft tissue infections in dogs and cats.
For use in cats and dogs.
Amoxi-Tabs are useful in treating:
- Urinary tract infections
- Ear infections
- Soft tissue infections (wounds)
- Bacterial dermatitis
- Gastrointestinal tract infections
- Cystitis
- Respiratory tract infections
- Many types of bacterial infection
Amoxicillin is comparable to ampicillin because of its bactericidal effects on susceptible organisms. It works by inhibiting the biosynthesis of cell wall mucopeptides.
- Amoxicillin is a semi-synthetic penicillin. It could potentially produce allergic reactions. If this occurs, immediately administer steroids and/or epinephrine.
- It may also cause symptoms of stomach upset, such as diarrhea, vomiting, or stomach upset. In this case, administer with a meal.
- Symptoms may lessen or disappear completely with continued use. If symptoms persist, you should notify your veterinarian.

- Do not use in dogs with a history of allergic reactions to penicillin.
- Only for use in cats and dogs.
- Keep out of reach of animals and children.

Dosage and Administration :
Dogs: The recommended dosage is 5 mg/lb of body weight twice per day.
Cats: The recommended daily dosage is 50 mg (5-10 mg/lb) administered once.
Dosage should be continued for 5-7 days or 48 hours after all symptoms have subsided. If no improvement is seen in 5 days, review diagnosis and change therapy.
