Iverhart Plus Flavored Chewables (ivermectin/pyrantel) are used in the prevention of canine heartworm disease. This medication eliminates heartworm larvae (Dirofilaria immitis) in the tissue stage, providing 30 days of protection following infection. It also controls and treats hookworms (Ancylostoma braziliense, Uncinaria stenocephala, Ancylostoma caninum) and ascarids (Toxascaris leonina and Toxocara canis). Iverhart Plus eliminates the tissue stage of heartworm larvae.
In rare cases, the following reactions could occur:
- Diarrhea

- Ataxia
- Mydriasis
- Anorexia
- Vomiting
- Lethargy
